Mobile Tyre Fitting in Colchester

Colchester sits on the A12 between Ipswich and London, with the A120 heading west towards Stansted. Both are fast roads carrying a mix of commuters and freight.

The A12

Older sections have junctions with short slip roads and limited hard shoulder, which makes stopping less straightforward than on a modern motorway. If you feel a tyre going, start looking for a proper refuge or the next junction rather than assuming you can pull over anywhere.

Airport runs

The A120 carries a lot of Stansted traffic, often at antisocial hours with a flight to catch. If that is you, tell us — a deadline changes the sensible advice, and sometimes parking the car safely and dealing with it on your return is the better call than chasing a fix.

  • Find your locking wheel nut key. Without it the wheel cannot come off. It is usually in the glovebox, the boot well, or with the spare.
  • Read your tyre size off the sidewall, for example 205/55 R16 91V, so we arrive with the right tyre rather than making a second trip.
  • If you are on a motorway or dual carriageway, get out on the passenger side and wait behind the barrier — not in the car.
